1. Eligibility
Users must be at least 16 years old. Account creation confirms age requirement compliance.
2. Your Account
Users must maintain secure credentials and not share passwords. Account information must remain accurate and current. Violation may result in suspension or termination.
3. Acceptable Use
Prohibited activities include uploading illegal, abusive, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or misleading content. Bullying, impersonation, and unauthorized system access are forbidden. The platform maintains zero tolerance for objectionable content.
4. Safety, Moderation, and Reporting
Users may block others, removing their content from feeds. Reports trigger moderation review within 24 hours. Content violations result in removal; users may face suspension or permanent banning. Relay reserves proactive removal rights.
5. User Content
Users retain ownership of uploaded photos. By uploading, users grant "a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and share your content within Relay, solely for the purpose of operating and improving the service."
6. Intellectual Property
Relay Social Ltd owns all trademarks, logos, and designs. Users cannot copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer platform components without written consent.
7. Service Availability
The service operates "on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis" with no guaranteed uninterrupted operation. Modifications or discontinuation may occur anytime.
8. Limitation of Liability
The company is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from app use or other users' conduct.
9. Termination
Users may delete accounts via settings; Relay may terminate immediately for violations.
10. Governing Law
Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales with exclusive court jurisdiction there.
11. Changes to These Terms
Updates are posted with revised effective dates. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

- Firebase analytics: usage patterns, crash reports, performance metrics, device identifiers for notifications
Not Collected: Browsing history, contact lists, unrelated metadata
2. How We Use Information
Data supports:
- Account creation and management
- Photo sharing and social interactions
- Daily Poll participation and display
- Optional personality testing and interest comparison
- Friend connections and shared interests display
- Optional AI Planner features using personality/interest data
- App functionality, performance, and security
- Essential app notifications
Personality/Interest Data:
- Voluntary provision
- Used only for social comparison and in-app planning
- Not used for advertising, behavioral targeting, or third-party sales
3. Content Restrictions
Users must not upload illegal, abusive, harassing, or explicit content. Violations result in removal or account termination.
4. Data Sharing and Processors
Personal data is not sold. Limited sharing occurs with trusted third-party processors (e.g., Google Firebase) operating under contractual safeguards.
5. Data Security
Passwords are encrypted. Appropriate technical and organizational measures protect personal data.
6. Age Restrictions
Relay targets users 16+. The platform does not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
7. Your Data Protection Rights
Users may access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and request portability. Complaints may be filed with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Relay CSAM Safety Policy

1. Zero Tolerance
Relay prohibits Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and child exploitation. Violations result in immediate content removal, authority reporting, and permanent account bans.
2. Photos Only
Only single photo uploads are permitted. Videos, GIFs, audio, and live content are blocked to limit abuse.
3. What Is Prohibited
- Sexualized or exploitative photos of minors (under 18)
- Edited, AI-generated, cartoon, or drawn images sexualizing minors
- Grooming, sexualization, or exploitation attempts, including "age-play" or "barely legal" framing
- Child image solicitations, sextortion, or trafficking
- CSAM links or acquisition instructions
Note: Appearance determines minor status; stated age claims do not override this determination.
4. Reporting CSAM or Child Safety Concerns
- In-app: Settings → Report Abuse
- Email: team@relay-social.com (subject: "Child Safety – Urgent")
- Emergency: Call 999 for immediate danger
5. Enforcement
CSAM/grooming detection triggers:
- Immediate content removal
- Permanent account ban
- Reporting to UK child-safety authorities
- Minimal evidence preservation for law enforcement
6. Working with UK Authorities
Relay cooperates with:
- Internet Watch Foundation (IWF): CSAM reports
- CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command, NCA): grooming and child-risk cases
- INHOPE: international coordination when appropriate
7. Data Handling & Privacy
Only minimal evidence (timestamps, account ID, IP/device info, content hash) is retained for reporting. Evidence is securely stored and deleted upon legal obligation expiration. Offenders are not notified if investigation compromise could result.
8. How Reports Are Reviewed
Child-safety reports are handled directly by Relay's two founders following strict internal procedures for rapid escalation.
9. Consequences for Violations
- Immediate CSAM removal
- Permanent offender bans
- IWF/CEOP and law-enforcement reporting where required
